Thanks to the late flowering of De Panne, our green seaside resort has always been a cozy and friendly bathing resort. One of the chief attractions of De Panne is just its extraordinary natural richness. Such harmony of sea, beach and dune can be found nowhere so pronounced as in this extreme western corner.


When you talk about De Panne, you think op Plopsaland. This hospitable amusement park is undoubtedly the most child-friendly in Belgium.


The greatest gift of De Panne is a present from the sea : its beach ! The widest on the Flemish Coast ! A golden yellow paradise ! Every age finds there the perfect holiday. Children can romp about to their hearts' content. Sun-bathers can sink peacefully into blessed thoughts. Active sport lovers can - without being sworn at ! - play ball as much as they like.


The beach is without a single break-water. It is therefore no coincidence that the first sand yacht was built here (in 1898). Created by the Dumont brothers it was the beginning of a fascinating sport of which De Panne became the model. Driven by the sea-breeze these sailing cars swoop at extraordinary speed along the edge of the waves.


De Panne encourages its pleasures by an almost non-stop program of attractions during the season. Folkloristic exhibitions, elegance contest for coaches, band and jazz concerts, processions and fireworks provide something for everyone.
